Reception

Children join Reception at the beginning of the academic year (1st September – 31st August) in which they will be five. During the autumn term parents and carers of children who have been offered places are invited to an introductory meeting at which details of the school day are discussed.

In Year Admissions

Occasionally spaces are available in year groups other than Reception. If you would like to apply for ‘in year admissions’ via the Croydon council website.

Transfer to secondary school

Children transfer to secondary school at the end of Year 6 when they are 11. Applications to secondary school are dealt with by Croydon Council. If your child was born between 1st September 2005 and 31st August 2006 you must apply for a secondary school place. Applications need to be made online by Monday 31st October 2016

We encourage parents to visit as many local schools as possible when they hold their open events during September and October. Please see the link above. You might also check local schools which are outside the borough. Details of their open events will be on their school website. If you need any advice on filling in the application form, please speak to a member of the office staff.

Some schools require you to fill in a supplementary form; you will need to check with individual schools. Letters with the outcome of your application will be sent out by Croydon Council on 1st March 2017; you will be able to see the outcome online during the evening of 1st March.

Children offered a place at a school in Croydon will be invited to attend an induction day at the school on Friday 7th July.
