Learning Visits

Forestdale Primary School is able to offer a wide and varied selection of enrichment opportunities, which the children thoroughly enjoy.  Off-site learning visits linked to specific curriculum areas enhance and support the children’s learning and understanding of the world around them.  In addition, we welcome visitors who can enrich the children’s learning with their expertise and perspective. We have welcomed  vets, nurses, librarians and members of the police and fire services who have worked with our children and inspired them for the future. From KS1 upwards, there is a learning visit arranged for each year group, each term. We are fortunate that Transport for London provides free transport for schools and we take advantage of this to visit a variety of locations in London and the surrounding boroughs.

Additionally, in Key Stage 2, there are a number of enrichment activities on offer which are tailored to the older pupils, particularly Year 6 which receives visitors and information on the transition to secondary school.  In Year 6 pupils have the opportunity to take part in a residential trip where children can take part in a range of outdoor learning activities. This provides many memories for children to take with them as they move on to their secondary schools.
